100D Ektachrome in Sankyo CM 400 question
Hi there! I'm new to the whole Super 8 thing but recently bought a Sankyo Super CM 400 and some 100D Ektachrome along with it. I was reading about how you need to set your camera to the "bulb" or tungsten setting when using the 100D but I can't seem to find a setting like that. It has a manual and an automatic switch, though. I've read that the filter inside of the camera has to be disengaged when using the 100D and i noticed when the camera is switched to auto that there's a orangish/reddish corner that drops down in the viewfinder. Is that the filter? Would I need to have my camera set to manual then? Any help, tips and comments would be appreciated! Thank you!

I'm not POSITIVE but it looks like it is reading it correctly judging by the specs in this link. It claims it will read 100 ASA daylight which is what 100D is so if the orange filter is swinging out of the way then I think you're good to go. Shine a flashlight into the lens and see if you see the filter swing in and out as you remove and insert the cartridge. Jeez now I'm getting confused...

Yes, the CM400 can use 100d. You don't have to change or adjust anything (but do beamscope's test by all means, though it will be hard to see through the film gate when you have a cartridge inserted).

I usually look through the lens with a bright light. It will be dark with the cartridge in true but if my old eyes can see it then most people should be able to.
