There's no question that digital has greater access to the negative than a positive print. So I have no problem with digital prints and distribution. But The aquistion on film, to me, still seems to be a viable avenue for filmmaking.

In Australia was announced, last year, that all independant cinemas in Australia would be given a free digital projector courtesy the Hollywood studio system. I guess that didn't include the cinema I sometimes set up in my lounge room from time to time.

And there goes the LAST reason for me to want to go to a theater. Of course, I had already lost interest in the theater when I started seeing one crap remake/sequel after another, shot and projected on film but digitally manipulated to the point of looking like cheap video. Even if somebody did try to do it the old fashioned way, the end result will still have no real advantage over a good home theater.
