Bolex B8/D8LA Turret Locking Cap question

Post by Lunar07 »

The Bolex B8/D8LA have a turret locking cap that engages the mount and has a smaller screw that screws into the body of the camera so that the turret stays in place. Does anyone know what are the specs for this smaller screw? Diameter and pitch! It looks like it is M3. I am not certain. I have the service manuals of the B8/B8LA and D8LA and they do not bother mentioning this.

I just measured one of mine from a B8L. It's an M5 screw. I think the pitch is 0.50 and it's 5mm in length.

You are right. I found a regular M5 screw. It works for couple of turns then stops. Regular M5 has a pitch of 0.7. I can see the turret locking cap has a finer pitch. So M5 with 0.5 pitch it is.
