Re: 'Dear Cupio' Super 8 short by a young woman!
On first viewing - this is nothing short of awesome. It is amazing how a series of shots can create a unified context of narrative and atmosphere when coupled with spoken words. In this short, this is quite pronounced. Very beautiful. And it shows what Super8 is capable of too. I wish the narrative was in Swedish with English subtitles.
One comment though: at the very end of the short we are shown a shot of the man. I feel the short should have ended with the almost fading shot of the woman walking with her back to us; with that shot of the man right before it fading into the woman walking. Reason is that the man is shown before as part of her point of view. All of a sudden the end makes the man as part of the camera's or some other omniscient third person point of view. An unwarranted shift I think.
But even with this. This is quite excellent!
