Muray 16mm viewer

Post by mr_x »

Hi

I have a Muray 16mm viewer. It's in good condition but one of the film transport rollers is 'lazy'. I have worked fine oil into it, and this has freed it up a bit, but it's still not free spinning. I cannot see a way to get at it, to clean round the spindle, there doesn't seem to be anything to unscrew, the centre of the roller is just a flat metal disc.

Any ideas please?

The bulb has also blown, you can see the heat marks on the inside of the glass, looks a bit like a giant fuse or a miniature strip light.

Thanks,

Ric

Put a rubber tire from a model car or something in a drill and run the tire on that murrays wheel until it turns free enough that the film wont slide on it.

Oh, think I see what you mean ~ power-spin the roller at mega speed until it pulps out all the garbage which is clogging it up?

Have steeped the roller in fine oil so it is well lubed ahead of this experiment

Thanks,

Ric
