Foma with sound!

Post by MIKI-814 »

Sound striped and processed at http://www.reveladoreversible.webs.com, using old K40 sound cartridges. Fimed with Canon 1014 XL-S:

The fact that sound film is available again is very revolutionary...

The best thing that happened to small format film in many years!
Congratulations to Ángel Caro, the man behind the "reveladoreversible" lab.

I understood that FOMA was no longer available. Doesn't that put a damper on this effort?

So, if I send 400ft of DS8 E100D, I can get the film loaded into sound carts?

You would need to contact them themselves :)

As I understand it he has already striped E100 and used that in a Single-8 cartridge. The method works several materials and the FOMA is merely a demonstrator. It works on ORWO and others too, likely.

And FOMA will be back :) If were gone, because it is only a rumour that it would stop.

The problem for the striping-enterprise is to get empty cartridges. So if you want E100 in cartridges you likely would be required to supply the cartridges too
Kind regards,

André

I'm confused as this says..."Foma Fomapan R100 B&W Reversal Film 2x8mm (Double Super 8) - 10 meters

Double Super 8? 30 meters? This sounds like double 8mm film on a spool not Super 8 in a cartridge. Now my head is hurting. :)

Yes, the Fomapan is/was available in DS8 on 10m and 30.5m reels.
This sounds like double 8mm film on a spool
That's because it is like D8, but has got Super8-perforations instead of Normal8-perforations.
This space was left intenionally blank.

I was informed that the film sent for stripping must be slit S8 not DS8. He can sound stripe film but not slit DS8 and cut to 50 ft (15mtr) lengths for loading into S8 carts. So you must arrange for slitting and cutting before sending.
