I'm going to take a stab at this. It's just a viewer/editor right? My first instinct would be to clean the mirrors/prism and so on inside before trying a larger bulb. These things can get really nasty inside over the years. I have no idea what kind of bulb it takes but it seems with some re-wiring you could use almost any type of bulb that would physically fit, within reason of course. Don't want something that will get super hot in there. A larger bulb might heat up the switch to the point of failure so you might want to bypass it if this is that important to you. Wish i could be of more help but I just don't know what type of bulb it takes. The one or two editor/viewers I have use what seems like the equivalent of a night light bulb which are pretty damn dim.

It might use an automotive tail light bulb or something quite like one. If so you might be able to wire in a more modern socket and use a brighter bulb that fits in the new socket. I'll be the first to admit I'm not the one to be talking electric with.

Try phoning these people.

They used to do an adaptor and halogen bulb that replaced the "automobile type " bulb fitted to most Editors; I used one in my Elmo with great results. They should know if the Prinz uses the same bulbe.... have it out ready to describe it to them.

Cheers guys.
I was thinking along the lines of a car bulb of some description my self but using halogen.
Heat maybe an issue though.
