The first of its kind?

Post by 71er »

Found this advert on an Austrian sales page today:
http://www.willhaben.at/iad/kaufen-und- ... d=23017936
which translates to: "Due to changing to analogue I am selling my digital equipment ..."
This is photographic equipment; but just two days ago I sold two Canon 500 series cameras to a guy in my town, who appears to be member of a video club and until now he has only been filming digital. He bought my cameras for a project that he described "should look more like film", which he was never able to render from digital footage on the computer.

A wise decision. Although I prefer not to call film-photography analog. In its core it has little to do with electricity.
Still, why sell such a nice lens? It would fit film EOS-es too. Or did the seller switch to 120 film.

I never did think for a second to do away with film. I have been into 35mm photography for all my life. Last year I even purchased a Linhof Technika 70, had it informally overhauled by a genuine Linhof expert techniker and now am set for classic photography.
Next 8x10 5x7? :)
Kind regards,

André
