My new Cat Film

Post by Tscan »

Check out this fun little short I made, a montage of cats that are plentiful around the neighborhoods in my area. It's all hand held (no time for a tripod when it comes to squirly animals) filmed on S8 100D, canon 814xls.

Good stuff. My cat has become my favorite subject the last couple of years. Endless wonder and joy.

Are those Ektacats or Kodacats? They look E-64ish to me.

Cool. Two of them are identical to my friend's cats in Montreal. Jean

These are Ekta cats, but not 64... 100.

Not to be confused with AgfaCats, which are orange, or FujiCats which are only 1/3d the size. Of course, FocalCats are easy to spot due to their bluish tint.

Beautiful work. The yellow eyes of that blue-grey cat were intense. And gosh, that was one obese feline walking along about half way through the film! Good work on the rack focus near the end.

I used to have a black cat. I had planned to film it jumping from the back fence at 54 fps but unfortunately never got around to it. Though I did manage to get some super 8 footage of my other cat playing with a mouse.

Yeah, that 54 fps looks really good for slow motion speed. The Canon 1014E is the Lamborghini of Super 8 cameras. It's big, bad and impressive. It packs a lot of muscle and when you put on that original rubber lens shade, it is like putting the rear wing option on the Countach!
