I finally decided to widen the gate on this camera. I have avoided doing it before because I thought there would be too much vignetting and because getting access to the gate is not easy. Surprisingly there’s hardly any except a little in wide shots.

Removing and then widening the gate was fairly simple, but when I placed it back in I lost the tension in the metal guides [that are wedged on the left side of the gate when in the camera]. I know these guides are important, as I have discovered without them the picture can be unsteady.

How do I fix this problem with the guides?
