You mean like this? (New post or reply, below edit field check Upload attachment, browse for file and add it. Then submit).
I just enabled this feature. Max image size is 50MB.

Also when you're logged in? According to the board settings all registerred users should be allowed to view attachments.

No picture when logged in either.

Possibly the phpbb needs a restart?
Or there is something wrong with the access right to the filessystem or directories there?

However, this might not be what the OP was asking for, as the request said "How do I attach an image in my post?" rather than "How do I attach an image to my post?" or "How do I embed an image in my post?"

To embedd an image in a post please click the Img button above your text edit area (when replying or creating a new post). Please note that the images must be located somewhere online. You need the URL of the image to do this.
