I would like to buy a second hand projector to try doing a few DIY telecines but am clueless where to start and what models to look out for. Is it worth the effort rather than having them professionally done? Although, I think I'd like to to give it a go regardless as I have never seen super 8 film using a projector! Oh the shame!
What to look for when buying a projector?

What to look for when buying a projector?
Sorry for hitting the forum up with numerous posts but what can I say... I'm enthusiastic!

Re: What to look for when buying a projector?
If you're hoping to do a 'film it off the wall' job with a camcorder then you need to get a projector with a continuously variable speed control (e.g. a pot which you can turn for faster/slower), as you'll need to tune it in to 16 2/3rds FPS to transfer stuff shot at 18FPS.
For stuff shot at 24FPS you'll need to tune it in to 25FPS, but that may be a bit of a taller order. Possibly...
