Elmo 612s-XL and stop motion.....

Post by richalezio »

Hi there

I have an Elmo 612s-XL super 8 camera that I've had for quite some time but never used it.

It has three filming speeds 1 18 and 24

I just want to confirm that the 1 setting is ok for stop frame animation?

also - is the supermag400 still available? I've noticed the site is down

Hi there the lens on this camera is one of the sharpest out there!

You will be able to shoot stop frame animation with this camera no problems!

As for the bigmag...... I cannot answer that one! I think you can but dream!

Here is some footage I shot with my Elmo 612sxl to test it out. Shot at 18fps.

Hope this helps,

Hi

I looked at your youtube footage and looks superb.

I'm planning on doing some close up animation with modeling clay puppets. what is the minimum distance the lens can focus to? 5ft less than 5ft?

no, it's ouf of production since late 2006.
It's also unclear how many items have been produced: 10? 50? 100?
