So I pulled my minty 6008s out of it's case for the first time in a couple of years and found it to be mal-functioning. It was perfect last time I used it and sadly now it is not. The plastic FPS knob has broken off and the switch... which I believe to be the culprit of the problem dropped inside the camera. I have contacted Bjorn about repairing it as I believe he is the best for repairing beaulieu's from everything I've read about. The problem I'm having is with the US to Euro exchange rate being so bad I will pay about as much as I bought the camera for to have it serviced and repaired, and some have said I overpaid for the camera in the first place.
So I'm curious is there anybody in the US that is as good as Bjorn? I want to send it to Bjorn----I just have to justify spending so much to repair something that I'm not sure is even worth the cost of repair? What are 6008S worth these days? So far on my list for contacting are DU-ALL in NY, Pro8mm which is local, and super16inc.com in NY. Are there any others I should add or stay away from?
Also is the full ground glass modification worth it on this camera?

Re: Beaulieu 6008S Repair
Super16inc should be good. But the replacement part could a problem to get a hold of. Maybe he can just get the part from Wittner... Should save on the shipping and customs.
They have plenty of Beaulieu parts. Some they sell other they don't. Don't know why. Possibly they don't want amateurs to get too deep into the guts of the camera.
At times 6008s sell at Euro 100-150. eBay or at real photoshows etc.
My first 6008 had a broken knob too. I found all parts inside. Reassembled and glued it together again. Then fit a reinforcing sleeve around the pole of it as the glue cannot take all the force on its own. It has been fine ever since
