Hervic Splice Tape

Post by equipment@nwfilm.org »

Just wanted to spread the word about recent developments of the now DISCONTINUED Hervic splice tape. The company that manufactured them has gone out of business and dropped the bomb on all the people who purchase them without notice.

For those of us who love them and use them that will mean a mad scurry to gobble up the remaining splice packets out there. But more to the point, we will need an alternative. As far as I know there are really only two- guillotine splicers and Kodak presstapes. I greatly prefer the former. This might not seem so bad but I need to find 30 guillotine splicers by fall to meet the demands of the organization I work for. Any suggestions? I will just probably have to nickel dime a splicer here and there until I get that many.

CIR is an Italian manufacturer of guillotine splicers.

 :(
You gotta be kidding me!!
Hervic is out of business? Well I HATE the crappy Kodak presstapes -- no way will I go back to that misery. I could splice something 4x as fast with a Hervic. What about Hama? I know they are similar to the Hervic but not as good. Does anyone know if they are still in business?
