Hello
Your results looks excellent! But what K-25 stock you used? It is interesting to know a expiration date...

Hello Alex
i made a big order in 2001 and stored in freezer. in the box there is this code "CAT 505 3210" expiration date 8/2003.I shot this videoclip in 2004, and had shot other rolls untill 09/2008 and i didn't notice any color shift.
Fred, i don't know, may be something wrong in the Vimeo site!
thankyou Granfer

I shot some K 25 in 16mm in Jamaica. Great stuff! With the exception of the contrast, it looks like 35mm.

marc, i recently discover a technique to lower the contrast of Kodachrome film:
1) shot the entire roll to a white screen underexposing about 5 stops.
2) reload and shot regularly.
this double exposure will affect only the darks. i discover this looking the last frames , when the light burn the end of film.
About the resolution of K25, yes it projected on a large screen is like a motion-alive slide. when digitizing this film unfortunately no electronic display can macth the colors and the resolution

Yes, this is called "Flashing". One thing that you will find recommended in some of the film making books is to expose the whole roll to a gray card and then reduce exposure when shooting your subject. But whatever method gets you to the same results is good. Your footage looks excellent!filman wrote:marc wrote:

Yes, to flash I hear it is a good idea to de-focus the lens as well.
Your k25 looks so good that in the telecine, you can only see the video camera defects. Wish I had some!

Hi looks great but It looks like video to me, more electronic than film look.
I know that it´s hard to tell this through Vimeo, but do you use some filter in post like sharpen or grain reduction?

Hi avr, it is exactly Kodachrome, i didn't use any filter like grain reduction (invisible in K25 S16 film anyhow) or sharpen, this film is already veeeery sharp !!!! i put this videoclip (or for better to say, filmclip) on Vimeo only to share my work and to let know everybody that in this secluded corner of the world, there is someone that still shoot K25.
Re: my k25 Super16mm videoclip on Vimeo
Thank you for showing us your corner of the world. I have never been to that part of Italy but I know that it is beautiful from what I have seen of Sardinia in pictures and the movies. I look forward to seeing more of it on whatever film you choose to shoot on!filman wrote:i put this videoclip (or for better to say, filmclip) on Vimeo only to share my work and to let know everybody that in this secluded corner of the world, there is someone that still shoot K25.
