Identify a belt
Can anyone help me identify a spare belt I have?
It's a 81 cm long black, toothed belt and it has some markings: Unitta 320XL 037.
I believe it was for a Bauer, Eiki or Elmo 16mm projector, but can't remember which one.
I made a photo, but don't know how to get it into this message.

I was going to recommend a diy solution using bristol cine from ebay uk that let's you cut and bond your own custom projector belt repair...but you need something else and maby close up photos of the projector.
There must be some forum image display FAQ somewhere, but I'll say how I do it... To illustrate a post on this forum, you need to type the text "IMG tag" (or click the Img button).
Copy and paste the "absolute url" text, from the web browser address bar, of the image file that you've uploaded to the internet. That image files address goes in the code between the "img" tags. You can upload pix to this website using the Pictures link over on the left menu, browse and explore the menus there till you find the upload process. Similar process like uploading to flickr or youtube.
The image address, using either the IMG speed button or typed directly is inserted into the message between the IMG tag. The web browser then displays the image if it's online, a broken icon if the address is incorrect or the picture's been removed.

As this looked like a car fan (auxiliary) drive belt, I engaged in 5 seconds of googling and came up with this
http://www.unitta.co.jp/products/timingbelt_xl.html
defo from a car, althought the 310xl does sound very super8 doesnt it...not saying it wouldnt fit a projector, but I guess it must be at least 1" / 25mm wide, which might be overkill....
HTH,
Ade

Hans,
No help with the belt, but regarding the image inserting....
Nice try... next time link to the image file itself not the web page it's on...
in other words, write out the "pix.jpg" not "pixpage.html"

Andre (AJ),
Perhaps you have too much time since even if you don't have anything sensible to say, you still make sarcastic remarks.
So please mind your own business.
Thanks Gianni.
It might be very useful for a next time to know how to add a picture.
And as I mentioned before: this belt is ment for either a Bauer, Eiki or Elmo 16mm projector.
I only don't know which one.

You seem to overlook the comical facette of your own post.
Now, it is already demonstrated by another member as a likely car component. Had you used google for a minute. Maybe write the belt manufacturer?
Just open the projectors. It is the easiest way. 80cm is very long, it should be a housing with room for that. But likely it fits none.

Re: Identify a belt
This has to be a typo. That's almost 3 feet long!Hans van der Sloot wrote:It's a 81 cm long black, toothed belt ...
Although I'm not too familiar with Bauer or Elmo projectors, I am somewhat familiar with Eikis, as I own a few. None of the Eikis that I own have a belt longer than 12" (a little over double that if you cut the belt, lay it flat and measure from end to end).Hans van der Sloot wrote:I believe it was for a Bauer, Eiki or Elmo 16mm projector, but can't remember which one.
Unfortunately I can't be of other assistance.
