Thanks for publishing through the website without charge! Really great sport.

The quoted rate for super8.nl is for the Andec processing which is provided there. But more expensive and slower than directly to Andec.

The handprocessing is only on special request and somewhat more costly. Euro 20+ Check the website.

Possibly you got handprocessing for the test. But you don't get that at Euro 12,50

One note.

You said that Alpha Cine will Xfer your film after processing. This is true if it is 16 or 35 but unless they made some changes in the very recent past they can't xfer S8.

Good Luck

Thank you very much for this service Juergen.
Pleased to know from the test that overall the processing of super8 is that good.

Hopefully this keeps us encouraging to remain making movies, whether homemovies or on a professional base.

Best regards, Paul

Alpha Cine is working on a deal with posthouse.com to transfer super-8 there.
Thanks for posting BTW.

Are you sure they are working on a deal with Cinepost??

That seems kind of odd. Sending S8 film to the exact opposite corner of the country for xfer.

Good Luck

The only other small gague specialists are Pro8mm and I SERIOUSLY doubt Alpha Cine would send any business to them. One of cinepost's colorists told me.

They should just get their own gate. I know they're pricey, but since merging with Forde, they are one of they main processors of S8. Or if they outsource, FSFT is right there in town. Forde used to curry my films there when I used them both.
100D and Vision 3 please

I think Cinepost is great. They are my Xfer house of choice when it comes to S8.

That said. T-Scan is right. They either need to get a gate or cut a deal with FSFT.

Good LUck

Alpha Cine already has a deal with FSFT but people who shoot super-8 don't generally want to pay 3 times as much for the transfer as they did the film. Regardless, Alpha Cine's transfers suck and they're the first to tell you that. They just do 1 light transfers for work print substitutes. Cine Post is the right company for the job even if they ARE on the other side of the country. They do great work and are affordable.

Thanks for the nice comments. Concerning super8.nl: of course the test was made there and all Ektachrome 64T films coming to the lab are processed there. I have never heard anything else from this lab.

Another great article and the whole issue was a fascinating read -

What did make me smile was the comment about two rolls of E64T still missing after 10 weeks .... That is almost exactly the time since I took out a subscription in late February and still my "free" roll has not appeared... must be some black hole for film out there !

To be honest, with my complete ignorance of the German language I have not chased this with the publishers ...just wondering if others ever got their free film delivered ?
