Filters on Sunhood for Beaulieu?

Hi, I have a 4008 ZMII with Schneider 1,8/6-66.

I was told a while ago that if I use a Lense filter (ie... Polarizer, ND, UV, etc...) on my Schneider 1,8/6-66, I should screw the filter onto the sunhood, and NOT the actual Scneider lense. This person told me that if the filter is on the actual lense, I will get vinetting. And that this will be avoided by placing the filter on the sunhood.

Is this true?

It is barely wide-angle. So you can screw on a standard filter directly onto the thread of the lens.

Important is when you stack filters and hoods that vignetting may start to occur and you may need to use a stepped up sizes of the outer screwed on components. Which may be easier to achieve with a sunhood as the first to screw on.

The Schneider Nr. 30/2 split lenshood that's supplied with the 6-66mm f/1.8 Optivaron lens accepts series 8.5 filters. These are unthreaded filters that fit into the compartment formed by the two parts of the lenshood. As such, unlike threaded filters, they don't cause the lenshood to extend farther from the front element of the lens, thus preventing vignetting.
