Hi,
From my previous post, I'm interested in possibly getting a Nikon C-Mount Adapter for a Beaulieu 4008.
1) Where is the best Dealer with a fair price for obtaining a C-Mount adapter? Preferrable somewhere in Los Angeles if possible.
2) Do I specifically need a Bealieu C-Mount adapter? On E-bay, I see a lot of Bolex C-Mount adapters. Will these work? Or is it specific to the camera?
3) Is this an easy thing to install for a Newbie?
4) If I use a fairly large lense, do I have to get rods for the Beaulieu to support the lense? Or will it be fine if I just attach the lense to the tripod.
5) Does the adapter essentially become a part of the lense (where I can leave the adapter on the lense)? So I can easily interchange between different lenses, or do I have to attach the adapter to the body, then attach the lense to the adapter whenever I use the Nikon Lense (more of a pain obviously)?
Thanks for all the help from members of this forum.

Get an original Nikon FC adapter. It is the best crafted and it has a aperture control input. Check eBay.
It clicks on and off the lens just like a camera. It is suitable for Beaulieux
When using a heavy lens you better let the body hang from the lens while the lens is on tripod. Instead of otherwise. The same as with 35mm still cameras.

I agree with getting the Nikon one, which is machined very nicely:

I bought mine at B&H as per the link above. I don't remember paying that much though; I thought it was more like half of that. Maybe I was feeling rich when I ordered it, it has been a while... ;-)
