Video assist ofr a Canon 814 AZ

Video assist ofr a Canon 814 AZ
I was playing around with my Canon 814 today and was noticing that the viewfinder eyepiece can be completely unscrewed.I thought it looked like it would be easy to fit a lipstick cam in there for a video assist.I haven't measured the size of the opening,but it certainly looks like it could accomodate a lipstick cam quite easily.Anyone ever try this with a Canon 814 AZ?

Don't have the Canon, but I do have a lipstick cam that I use with my K-3 and Arri 16S. I had a machinist make up adapters for these. The image is so dark and the resolution so poor that I rarely use it.
For Super 8 work, I sometimes tape the lipstick cam to the top or side of the film camera. You get a much better view this way, brighter and less distorted, but obviously not what the filming lens is seeing.
As an aside, I've often thought about getting one of those older "dogleg" reflex lenses you often see on older Bloex cameras and attaching my little lipstick cam to the end of that. If you used something like that on a Beaulieu, your video assist wouldn't interfer with the regular viewfinder. I know this is not an option on your fixed-lens Canon, but it was just a thought.
