Hi all,
I'd like to know if there is any reason why my dioptry settings should be different when I change the lenses on my camera. Or is dioptry set once for all, no matter what lens you put on ?
Also, I often move the dioptry ring by accident when I manipulate the camera, like getting it out of the bag... And if I have a short prime like a 10mm on the cam, I'm not sure how to operate to reset dioptry (with the split image). I mean unlike with the long end of a zoom, I can't see far objects. So should I use any vertical object that is in a reasonable distance (i.e more than a meter away) ?
Thank you in advance for any input or easier advice.
PS : I hope my questions are clear. Please correct my English if necessary... :?

Re: Dioptry questions
I believe the word is "diopter" (not dioptry).-Benjamin- wrote: Please correct my English if necessary... :?

Re: Dioptry questions
I'm pretty sure this is the case; the diopter should be set the same for all lenses.-Benjamin- wrote:Hi all,

Focus the etched split image "circle"; certainly it has to be in focus, no matter what lens is on the camera, for the VF system to work. Often it will have some small imperfection[s] in the etching, making it easier to focus on.-Benjamin- wrote:Also, I often move the dioptry ring by accident when I manipulate the camera, like getting it out of the bag...
