I think that you should take the camera for sale in Ebay. Start with U$10. You'll probably get the right price for it.

Prices in Japan varies between ¥220,000.- for new cams and ¥150,000,- for 2. hand 1975 models. However, I think they are very much sold out now.

No, not to my knowledge but there has been quite many brand new ones for sale on this site over the last couple of years - probably "overlayers" from production in the 80´s.

From monitoring this site regulary it seem to me that cam sales has increased heavily over the past year(s). Suddenly almost everything is "Sold Out" including the ZC1000s.

There were some new ZC1000s sold in UK over the past years too if I remember correctly.

 This is probably the only project Fuji could support for 8mm filmshooting. Restart the production of the ZC1000 and supplying new filmstocks in Single8 format/cartridges :!: Well, isn´t far from there to charge S8 cartridges with the same film?

Oops, sorry!!

Where it was hidden?

Anyway, I´m glad to see that Reversal MPF Velvia RVM still exists! :D

I tried to contact Japanese Single 8 filmmakers in the Web, to ask to them about the demand of this format, and maintain a narrow relationship between super 8 and single 8 shooters, but could not find any Japanese Single 8 filmmaker´s Page. (In English) :(

Maybe not useful this one either (japanese) but I think this is a quite heavy site (Si8 / Su8 - 16mm) that may help you to get in touch with communities over there - and there are links to more new ZC1000s :!:: (Priced at JPY 330,000.-

salt-sg are your around?

Found the Velvia link by searching the Japanese WEB side for Velvia.

Good news!

FUJIFILM announces new FUJICHROME VELVIA 100F PROFESSIONAL stock for slide film!

A little bit less grainy than Velvia 50, and who knows... perhaps Velvia 100F will replaces Velvia RVM 50 for reversal motion picture film in a next future.

The ZC1000 sounds like a great cam but does does fuji still manufacture single8 carts?

(Can you put the camera to use or will it sit on the shelf?)

Fujica ZC 1000

The Fujica ZC 1000 shows up on Ebay every now and then. Depending on condition, and whether any extra accessories such as the wide angle lens, pulse sync generator are bundled with the sale, I have seen them go for between 300 US dollars to 700 US dollars. Bought one myself from a dealer in the UK about two years ago, with the wide angle lens in excellent condition, it cost me 550 UK pounds. It's a beautiful camera and worth every penny. :P

Are the images really better than Super8?

I know that the fans of the format claim that there are fewer focal drift problems, due to the superior pressure plate of the cameras. Other than this, it would seem that there is no discernable advantage over Super8.

Are the images better? I personally hate the polyester film - I have some sound film prints in Polyester, and they melt, get scrunched up in my projector and sratch very easily.

If only Fuji would buy Kodachrome from Kodak and start processing it and put a soundstripe on the film as standard....Aahhh... dream on Lucas! :)
