Photo shops to visit in Vancouver?

Post by rhcvatni »

I'm currently in whistler, and since the conditions are pretty crappy i'll be leaving in a couple of weeks, stopping by Vancouver for a couple of days. Are there any photo/cinematography shops I should visit while I'm there.

mt baker is less than a day's drive away and always great. and imho whistler sucks even when the conditions are good because of the horrible architecture and european wannabe nightlife. :-)

I couldn't agree with you more on that, but at times the nightlife here has been pretty good. A lot better then what I'm used to back home in Norway.

While in Vancouver, definitely stop by Leos Cameras, which is in Granville St if I recall. Their cinematography section is amazing. When I was there in 1999, they had a Canon 1014 E (mint), about 4 or 5 Beaulieu super 8s (all different models), a Beaulieu R16, an Arriflex, quite a few Bolex H16s and I believe a Canon XL1 video camera.
