S-8 ECN Labs - E Coast USA?

Post by audadvnc »

I've just shot my first couple of Vision 2 200T carts and want to get them processed. Any recommendations for a good lab? East Coast USA preferred - Washington DC area best, but I haven't found any that take Super 8.

Failing anything closer -

They do a really great job of it. Just ask Justin. Then, when it's processed, you could have Justin or myself pick it up and xfer it.

Now, let me take this opportunity to thank for making me laugh out loud on more than one occasion. Really funny stuff, sir. Please keep it coming...

Do they do short runs? It looks like Technicolor is setup for big release prints and wouldn't handle a hobbyist's film...

Their site doesn't mention Super 8, just 16/35/70mm.

Technicolor NYC

Technicolor's lab in NYC is more oriented toward "front end" work, and not the large volume release printing of their sister labs. Not sure they do Super-8 ECN-2 however.

I don't know for a fact that Technicolor does...that is why I said that I "think" they do.

If they don't they don't. If they do you should use them because they have A1 processing.

Otherwise you have two other alternatives.

Cinelab.com will do $15 per roll and telecine straight to drive as uncompressed. They are also about to offer stock, processing and tk packages. All the info will be up on the website in about two weeks. Bono does good work as well, but are more expensive.

I'd go with Bonolab because they're in the DC area, but don't want to put up with their package pricing. Guess I'll go with Cinelab.

PS Mitch re: Niagara Lab - do you know anything about the details of sending film cross-border? Security scans, US/CAN payment, etc? I'd consider using them if it was simple & safe, or they had a US drop point.
