What's up with the 8mm Metadirectory? It hasn't been updated in forever. Over the years I've sent in several emails to the guy that manages it and never got a response. The Metadirectory was (and still is in many ways) a terrific resource. I'm not losing any sleep over it but anyone know what's up?

Roger,
it's largely why I started http://www.onsuper8.org in the first place as sadly (for whatever reason) it wasn't evolving with the times despite it being (and still being) so comprehensive....

Combine the nifty, convenient layout of onsuper8.org with the vast knowledge of the S8 Metadirectory, and be imperishible!
I dunno, did you do so already? Onsuper8.org looks smaller and less cumbersome at first sight due to its better layout.

Well, believe it or not, I have copy-pasted the entire directory and am currently checking all links (and to also avoid the irritating pop-ups and ads). Links which don't work I keep in the directory but I 'strike' them.
Check out the 'refurbished' (not ready yet) metadirectory here:

I dont envy Super8Camera with the gargantuan task of keeping the metadirectory in shape but its obviously web v1.0...
The guiding principle behind http://www.onsuper8.org was to point to the sources of infomation catagorised by a (hopefully) simple methodology. The metadirectory goes straight to the individual source pages which is great when looking for specifics, but makes for a massive amount of links. As I've said before http://www.onsuper8.org was built out of frustration in being able to have a single up to date repository that users can go back to again and again and make their own judgements as to interest, relevance etc. for their own purposes be it newbie, amateur or pro.
http://www.onsuper8.org is still growing and its usage is getting bigger by the month, its not perfect and we're checking and adding stuff all the time...
