WHERE DID YOU BUY YOUR CAMERA?

Post by oskar »

Me again.

I´m been playing with the idea of moving up and buying a 16mm camera. I even know which one. But there is the question about where to buy it.

I know that the majority of people buys their camera-equipment in ebay. But is there other "big" marketplaces or stores? I´m talking worldwide.

Thank you

i buy and sell stuff all the time to get my own collection up and to help pay for gear that i want to keep. i buy from typical people and sell to typical people. there really arent a lot of stores that cater to older more affordable equipment. ive even noticed that a lot of ebay prices are even a lot higher than what i see stuff for though my hands and those around me. there are a lot of schisters out there, know that. stores sell at crazy high premiums and people overpay frequently on ebay (ofcourse stuff goes cheap too but ive seen a lot of overly high prices). what are you looking for?

I bought my Bolex Rex5 from a member on this board. I have also bought cameras from Ritzcam, Igor's Camera and several online dealers. I have bought them from eBay but it can be a crapshoot. When it comes to higher priced equipment like my 35mm cameras I prefer to buy from reputable dealers. And it is good to get feedback from other buyers as to how well the dealer has treated them.

Otherwise known as Bazza's Bazaar. Very safe, as your funds are not forwarded by them to the seller until you've received the goods as described.

Almost all of my cameras have come from eBay... actually, sorry, all of them, except a broken Yashica that came from Salvation Army and a repairable one I got on this board ;) Prices have gone up significantly on 16mm and S8 stuff in the past year, but there are still reasonable deals.
