Looks really good. Personally, I think it looks better than a couple of the earlier clips you've posted. Good job. Also, were you using a combination of K40 and E64T? Good camera work also. Was there any color-correcting done in post? In my opinion, the shots that I think are 64T could have been warmed up a little.....all this coming from somebody who hasn't shot any 64T yet What camera(s) were used and where was this footage shot? Again, looks good.

camera was a nizo s800 stock lens. Filmstocks were in fact k40 and e64t. Used the 85b filter with the ektachrome. I agree with the color correction on the e64t, maybe I will go back and see what I can do with that.

This was all shot in Big Bear Lake, CA at Bear Mountain and Snow Summit.

I really, really like that tune. It's a departure from the usual blistering grunge. Nice.
I really like your camera work. Not easy to expose in the snow.
There are framelines visible top and bottom in a couple of shots. This is not an issue for NTSC monitors [TV safe], but will be seen by anyone viewing your clip on a computer. I find them highly distracting, but I'm obsessed with this kind of thing. You could bring the clip back into your computer and do a mild crop, top and bottom.
There is a fair amount of flicker in the first bit of footage. Again, might not bug you...could even be a computer/interlace issue...
I'm guessing you spliced the film and sent it for xfer. I would suggest having full 50' rolls xferred, then edit on NLE, and here's why - the telecine guys can't keep up with wildly varying colour temp changes shot to shot without effectively re-editing your footage - very time-consuming and not part of the deal, I assume. Now, different colours in the snow can be pretty, but in this case I felt it was too much, and the pink in the snow was "blinking" on and off. Again, not much the telecine tech can do. But if you send in the 50' rolls, they can balance each to get the most normal looking snow.

Tell you what - I *hate* being critical of other people's work, but I know what it's like to take the time to post stuff - you want feedback. So there you have it. ~:?)

I'd try and insert some more 'lifestyle' candid shots (ie, locations, people, goofing around, landscapes.. anything other than the actual tricks) into your footage to break up the 'hit after hit' repetition.

check out some 'robot food' videos, you'll know what i mean. makes a huge difference.\\

OK I went back and did some CC on the two clips that were overly blue. I did a few other minor CC's. That first riding shot is annoying me also with the strobing I'm gonna try and recapture that and get rid of that strobing.

I found the color too inconsistent. That first shot of the snowboarder starting off was brownish, then a couple very good color shots with blue sky, them more murky stuff. Which shots are K40 versus E64?

Colors were all over the wheel: Blues, greens, purples, grays, browns, the sky changes, the snow, the shadows.
Time of day may be part of the cause. Looking into the light or away from it also might change colors.
I really didn't like the Aqua colored shadows near the end, that was just too much after all that came earlier.
Can a colorist really make all those clips look the same? They are so different!

What exactly do you mean by that? You edit to the song, how so, do you mean the lyrics...?

I just think that you're missing a flow that you could be creating if you meshed your cuts with the song. I think you're right that if you make your cuts on every single beat it will become repetitive and predictable. (if that's what you were saying). But I also feel that if you can merge your cuts/dissolves to flow with the song then you'll have a stronger, more complete piece. (that's from my experience in cutting music videos).

there's a difference between cutting *to* the beat and cutting *on* the beat. the former is almost mandatory while the latter is a stylistic choice that sometimes work and sometimes doesn't. and if you go for the latter you'd better do it right. it can be really painful to watch footage that's cut "almost" on the beat.
