Just posting this simple poll to evaluate if there is a direct link to bad cartridges or a post evaluation problem like projector malfunction or transfer method problem.

Please post information/comments if not taken care of in this poll.

Can it be lack of lubrication after processing that causes the problem when projected?

This question has been rised before. Those of you experiencing problems with the new carts - can you try to lube the film and run it through your projectors again?

Might strighten! some question marks?

Will Non lubed films jitter in the WorkPrinter process?

I feel I must apologise for the latest wave of pandemonium over the jitter issue. I haven't even experienced jitter, but my latest test roll sounded bad going through the camera, and others had said they were experiencing jitter, so I posted a pessimistic suggestion that the problem was perhaps still with us. Film lubrication has sorted out these problems for many people, and so I am beginning to think that I was reacting out of fear of jitter, rather than factual analysis of genuine jitter problems. Roger posted a while ago that he felt that image stability had not fully returned to it's "pre jitter" state of yesteryear. This started my worries, and other threads compounded them. I am more confident now, and apologise for any over-reaction I may have caused.

No problem Lucas.

There has been many or at least more reports around independantly of each other which indicates that there might in fact be something not all good. I believe Roger Evans/Moviestuff were the first one to rise this question quite some time ago.

Bad noise form the cartridges were a pretty certain indicator of bad carts. My new ones runs so smooth as I never heard before as far as my memory goes for non sound carts.

I know there used to be a problem with jitter, admitted by Kodak themselves. But I think this was during the time I wasn't shooting S8 which was 1996-mid 2000.

I personally have never experienced jitter with Kodak cartridges, nor with the Agfa cardridges when they were still in the S8 business.....some of the Svema (Quarzchrome as sold by the Widescreen Centre) carts seem a bit rough but when I shoot that film I'm not going for quality!

I believe there was a dodgy batch of carts around 1997-98 manufacture which caused quite bad jitter.

I have only been shooting super8 for a year, but so far I have had no problems with jitter, then again the majority of my film has come from one batch that I ordered directly from kodak, and the rest has been fron a local organization that had recieved it very shortly before my purchase. So I have only shot fresh film and nothing that could be left over from when they were making the bad carts.
