Cache, Michael Haneke

This is definately the best movie i've seen in a while. From the imdb site:
Georges, who hosts a TV literary review, receives packages containing videos of himself with his family -- shot secretly from the street -- and alarming drawings whose meaning is obscure. He has no idea who may be sending them. Gradually, the footage on the tapes becomes more personal, suggesting that the sender has known Georges for some time. Georges feels a sense of menace hanging over him and his family but, as no direct threat has been made, the police refuse to help...
All i can say is: go see this film. It's a very, very intelligent piece of cinema. Another thing is it was shot on HD, which looked OK and it certainly fit the story perfectly.
We'll knock back a few, and talk about life, and what is right

There are two films I am desperate to see in the coming months: Grizzly Man and Cache.

I saw it a few weeks ago. I thought it was a nice change of pace from most of the stuff that usually comes to theatres - no music was a smart choice.

Technically it was very well done.

The script was generally intelligent and tightly constructed.

OTOH the film's explicit 'thesis' was pretty trite and felt somewhat dated. The interactions of the characters were more interesting than the postcolonial guilt sequences..

Both are fantastic. Cache is IMHO Haneke's best film to date.

Grizzly Man is incredible and the good news is that apparently Herzog is working on a new (non documentary [not that I don't love his documentaries]) feature. :D
