There's a fire in my street, I'm running out there now with my Elmo Super 106. Too bad I only got Plus-X!

Footage first. Well-being of shooter second.

Bah, my single-8 film hadn't arrived from Kent yet so I used the Plus-X I got from Evan. Frustrating, as the house didn't finish burning down and the fire was not even visible, only a ton of smoke.

best bet is to just start your own fire... or maybe you could have fed the fire with some corner store gasoline?

I know, I know....when I lived in CA I once followed a fire truck at the insistence of my girlfriend and we came to this house burning up. There was a lot of people looking on and several firetrucks...and all I could think was "I wonder if I can go home, get my Elmo Super 106 + K40, and come back before the fire is over?"....from that point on I carried a spare Super 8 camera and a roll of K40 in my car, everywhere I went.

Enjoy the exploitation inextricably linked to any form of image capture ;)

... but of course you won't shoot too much with your film in the freezer...

As long as the smoke was black and the house was white you should do OK with Plus-X.
