It's nothing special. Just something I cut together last year from a trip we had with my previous job.

Andreas, very nice job! It is amazing that such a short film can emote the feelings of your experience so well. I bet the images look awesome when projected on a nice movie screen.

Can you post some info on the gear you used from cam->->->editing system?

Its truly magic how S8/8mm/film can create a distance while bring it so close at the same time. Magic that is.

The film was shot with a Minolta Autopak-8 K11 using Kodachrome 40 film. The most colourful scenes were shot very early in the morning (0400-0600 I think) and the rest was shot during daytime in different lighting conditions.

It was transferred using a Bauer T5 projector and a Sony PD 150 DV camera shooting off the wall on a white sheet of paper. Very bad transfer if I may say so myself! The thing was edited in Adobe Premiere 6.0.

Nevertheless, the feeling is very nice.

As some of you noticed, the film is slowed down quite a bit. The reason was because I simply didn't have that much film from the trip and I wanted to show the faces of some of my co-workers and at the same time keeping it longer than 1.30minute/secs. Simple sollution: Just slow it down!

Yeah a bit, sleeping downstairs on a ship like that with all the ship-smell and stuff made me a bit sick, but not too bad!

It too 50 minutes to down load, sort of played as it went, and then was not saved on the computer so I could not play it back afterwards. A pity really, but did it need to be 12 MB in size? when with little loss in quality it could have been nearer 1 MB?

It looked interesting, but I am afraid it was not to be!

If you press pause "ll" while it is downloading in the player, the white bar will continue to advance. Then, after it is way over or all the way loaded, you may play it over and over. Press the space bar to repeat playback.

If you right mouse click on the file name in the upload ftp directory:
ftp://ftp.filmshooting.com/upload/
and select, save file as, it will save to the desktop or where ever you wish it to be. That proceeds a little faster as well.
