FIRST WORKPRINTER ON EBAY!

Post by Mr_Floppy »

Look what I found while looking for a viewer on ebay!

The first Workprinter 2nd hand I've ever noticed! And it looks like a nice chance!

I saw this as well. I set the 'my ebay' page to send me an email if a Workprinter turned-up months ago, before I ordered one from Roger. I forgot to cancel it and an email for this auction turned up a few days ago! But I'm not bitter...

I Bought It!!

Post by Corey Doyle »

Well, the other day, I was looking through the old topics and came across this one. I've been wanting a Workprinter for a while but just didn't want to pay the full price because I'm young, still in school, and I don't have much money. So I emailed this guy asking him if he was still interested in selling his Workprinter. I honestly didn't think he'd want to and I didn't even think I'd get a reply because the auction ended on the 10th of February. Guess what??? He emailed me back and wanted to sell it to me! So I offered $900 including shipping, he said yes and I paid yesterday. This is very cool. I'm excited.

BTW, I guess while I'm here I'll confess, I've posted as "guest" a couple of times. But now I'm registered. :)

Hi, Corey!

Hmmm. Well, if the unit is in good shape then you got a good deal! I will say that you probably should have called me before purchasing the unit. We've made some considerable improvements in the design since that unit was made; different slip clutch, different gate design, different condenser lens alignment, etc. Also, the reason I wanted to chat with you is that I am coming out with a WorkPrinter Jr that has no remote, which should actually bring the price down a bit.

I believe that your unit will be shipping from the UK, so packaging will be very important, especially in relationship to the condenser lens. Make sure that he includes the mouse and synch cable. When you get it, I would strongly advise letting me take a look at it. You're in Austin, so it might not be a bad idea to hop down to Houston and bring your WorkPrinter for a good going over before you stick any film in it. Let me know if you need any assistance!

Hey Roger! Thanks for the reply.

I received the Workprinter yesterday, and it's in good shape. I didn't want to call you because I didn't have much to say and I didn't want to bother you. I don't have the time right now to bring it to you. I've already cleaned and put film in it anyway and it works great but I think there might be a registration problem. When it moves to the next frame, the film shifts ever so slightly resulting in a somewhat unsteady transfer. Is this normal?

No, not at all. The film should land in the same spot on each and every frame. Please contact me privately for the proper instructions on usage of your unit before running any more film. This is for the protection of your film and your unit.
