OT: my commerical on mtv

Post by mattias »

hey,

my first commercial to be shown on international television starts airing on mtv tomorrow (nordic and possibly the rest of northern europe too). i produced, directed and edited it for the computer game company pan vision, from a script by their ad agency the bearded lady (http://www.tbl.se). check it out before everybody else right here:

http://w1.866.telia.com/~u86622406/igi2.mov
http://w1.866.telia.com/~u86622406/igi2.mpg

i recommend the mov for *much* better quality due to the 3ivx compression. it should play with divx for quicktime and the qt6 mpeg-4 codec as well, but i haven't tested it.

let me know what you think. no super-8 was involved, hence the OT disclaimer... ;-)

Matt,

Great! It was really funny, I enjoyed it. The concept is really good.

well, do you have the 3ivx codec installed? or divx? or mpeg-4? any or all of the above? and yes, the mpeg version should always work...

i just saw it on mtv. i don't like what the broadcast had done to both the video and the audio compared to my digibeta master but man, talk about thrills. it's just a commercial and somebody paid to have it aired but still, can you imagine? my film was on god damn m-f-ing*m*t*v*. that is just sooo cool. :-)

i got the movie to work, i downloaded that 3ivx thing!

Its a cool ad, how did u get to make it? Do u usually make a living at making commercials for TV?

I recently had some camera work of my own shown on Tv, Channel 4 here in britain! and yes its very exiting when u see your own work on TV!!

well done !

thanks. i got the gig by sending my reel and a quote to the ad agency, which i have worked with before. i do make my living directing commericals, although more often (always) for local or "corporation" broadcast, plus the occasional music video, and trailers for kids' programming belive it or not. oh, and i also design web pages and help out in a video store... :-)

I also want to shoot a music video for my friends band. For this reason i bought a super 8 cam, a nizo 800. Unfortunatley, i have shot one test roll, and thing broke (the light meter)!! So if i can get it repaired i will go ahead shoot the video.

Is there a good place online to post a movie. Or is it better to make your own webpage? I would love people to watch it and give opinions, like we have done with your MTV advert!!

By the way, is it showing on any other channels than MTV?
