noob 16mm question

What is the difference between B and Standard mount, and are they at all compatible... I found some nice Zeiss past primes in B mount... getting a standard mount.

B mount is stronger and better. It is still in use today despite the fact that Arri has moved to PL...You can use B mount on PL with an adaptor but not the other way around.

right, but can you use b mount lenses with a standard mount? I can't seem to find any real technical data on it at all.

No...You can't.

If your camera only uses Standard lenses sell it.
