noisy Bauer T502
Hi, i know some of you have bauer projectors, wonder if you can help. My bauer t502 is noisy when projecting, if i reverse the projector no noise..problem seems to be the claw mech knocking on the rear of the gate causing a tapping/knocking noise, are there any adjustments to pull the claw mech slightly away to prevent it fouling the gate assembly, noise occurs when the claw goes into the groove to move the film along thus hitting the rear of the gate... thanks for any replies.....

Bauer T502 claw adjustments
Hi,
Yes, you may have a cure for the noise problem.
First of all look on this site FTP section and find the Bauer T502 service manuals. Read through and pay attention to the claw adjustment chapters (from memory, section 6).
Now, you MAY have a worn out cam/follower sitting on your claw. Nevertheless, you may be lucky and by readjusting it can still be used.
The HEIGHT of the lowest location of the claw movement (and thus also the highest point of movement) is controlled by an excentric bult, secured with a nut of SW 8. It is located behind the big transformer and you can easily access it from the front of the projector, after taking the backpanel off. Now: set claw at lowest point, unlock the nut, slowly turn the bolt and observe the claw moving away from the frame. Try to positÃÂon it such that the frameline control knob can still move the frameline back and forth by some 10%. If you can not get into this situation, your cam/follower is worn out too much. Buy a new one from Wittner Kinotechnik. They are on the net.
