Best styled movie camera ever?
OK folks, since the question of how many cameras disintegrated into who has the better country, let's try this one:
What is the prettiest movie camera ever made? I'll focus the poll on known 8 and super 8 cameras...
Comment if you have one you think kicks butt over any listed here...Note, I cannot seem to add too many choices so if you don't see what you like listed, post a link to a picture of what you think is tops!

Wow, now this is a fun poll.
I used to feel it was the Canon 814XL-S, but I think that's because its my favorite to actually use. Then I became enamored with the R10--its really trick and looks like something straight out of Star Wars. Lately though, I've been admiring my Nizo 801 macro and have become convinced that it is the real classic beauty. Isn't it in the Museum of Modern Art's permanent collection?
I vote for the Nizo.

Tough question. It said "in use and looks," so I went with the H16. The design is classic, the craftsmanship is superb, and the tactile feel is excellent. I like the styling of the Nizos as well, but the solid, precise mechanical feel of the H16 isn't matched by my R10 or my Nizo S560, although both are excellent cameras in their own right.
Someone should start a poll on which S8 cameras and which C-mount lenses have the best feeling zoom and focus rings ;) I think the R10 has a fantastic zoom ring and very good focus ring (almost too light), whereas the Nizo S560 has a very nicely damped focus ring. For C-mount I've yet to use a lens that was as smooth and precise as my Switar 10mm.

for pure bauhaus inspired purity,it has to be the nizo silver bodied cameras
561s 801s, pros etc.
in the late 60s and 70s,Braun design under design head,
dieter rams...produced simple,pure functional...industrial products...
the head of design at apple is a fan of dieter rams work..
architects, directors, designers and andy warhol loved the silver nizos..
also about 10 years ago, 1 of my nizo 800s was sent to new york on concorde...for a video...look out for it ..i think the track was called jump she says..the singer david bowie...he wanted to keep it after the shoot..
in classic design terms, i think they are the strongest..
althought i do love the analogue, footage counter on the nikon r8 and 10s..

Any thing Leicina. I do not own one but I do really like the contemporary simple look of them. Simple does equals art.
It's astonishing how many cameras look cluttered. I like the simple but functioning camera. Simple does equal art.

Dawning of the contemporary Super 8mm age.

I have a soft spot for the Beaulieu 4008.
That said:
- I love the look, simplicity, and heft of the Fujica P1/P100
- The Carena Zoomex S and Variogon models are curvy enough to be classic sports cars
- The Bauer C105/C107/C109 series offered beautiful end-of-the-line industrial design, especially the sleek plastic curves and the rotating flip-up handle.

Bauer Royal series all the way, with the Bauer C Royal all at the top!
It's the one cam I love most for its posing qualities, especially with its black rubber visor on the lens, and why I keep it even though I haven't gotten its 54fps mode working yet.
