Minidisc questions regarding record levels

Do all Sony Minidisc recorders have manually adjustable record levels? Does the LCD display show the record level and give you the ability to keep them from peaking? I've never used an MD recorder... I just need something similar to my old Sony tape recorder.

What's the lowest-end Sony MD recorder with these features?

i don't know the exact answers you're asking for, but the sharp mt-190 has it all, and you should be able to get one for $150. and sharps are actually considered better devices for recording in general.
