leicina special viewfinder

Post by 1kredhead »

Hi there everyone,

Not being the biggest fan of the split-image focussing, I’m just wondering about the viewfinder on the Leicina Special - it would be nice to hear how people find focussing with that camera to be…. How does it compare to the viewfinders of the Beaulieu 4008 series, or the ZC1000? Thanks very much….

The Specials VF relies on split image focussing for accuracy and it is accurate if set up right. The other 2 screens are nice and clear for composition but I don't really use them. I've found you can't rely on any of them for macro work- you really need to get the 10mm cinegon which has focus markings down to 12cm allowing tack sharp macro work. Never had any luck with the macro on the optivaron as there you have to rely on the VF for focus.
