Hey Josh,

I'm in Brisbane and am shooting my next project on negative (Vision2 200T actually).

I have purchased the stock off Kodak Australia (you have to buy at least 20 carts) and then I'm posting them off to one of the many places in the USA that provide processing and telecine services.

I'm gonna try Spectra Film and Video first, and see how they go - I've heard they're quite good.

They will do everything I need - process the film, prep it, transfer it to PAL format and post it back!

Sure it's an extra few dollars postage to the US, and a couple more weeks wait to get it back, but that doesn't bother me.

Thanks.

Tim.

Hey Tim,

Glad to hear you finally got started with neg! Did you end up buying 20 carts yourself?

Nah, the black-and-white reversal stocks (Plus-X and Tri-X) are the only ones you can get processed here, and only at FilmPlus (who unfortunately no longer process Ektachrome). Atlab and Neglab process neg, but only in 16mm/35mm.

Pretty much any professional telecine place that does Super 8 should be able to transfer negative. Video 8 Broadcast in NSW might be worth a try.
