True, but Lille isn't, so I'm not so sure!

Hey Freddy,
I don't know how you can claim that I have been 'unmasked' bearing in mind that I have made absolutely no secret of being a dealer. In fact it has been mentioned several times already in this thread by other people.
In my signature there are links to 2 websites (they both lead to the same site), and my name on this forum is the same as one of those links, and is the name I traded under selling Super 8 from 1992 until a few months ago. I now trade under the name of Blue CineTech, hence the 2nd link I have put in my signature. So I'm confident in saying I've got nothing to hide, nor have I hidden anything.
Quite honestly if I thought that you were any kind of competition I would give it all up and become a monk. Actually I probably wouldn't, but I'm sure you catch my drift.
In any case I'm not looking to cause you trouble: I'm simply responding to your outlandish claims which you seem to be unable to verify.

Just by way of confirmation (and sorry to disappoint you Christoph!), Kodak UK have told me that they are sitting on quite a lot of V2 stock, and don't expect to be selling V3 for the next few weeks. "By the end of the year" was the exact phrase used.christoph wrote:i agree that it's great that we're able to buy vision3 500t already from some dealers, but personally i'll rather wait a few days longer and get it from bart at 2/3 of the price that suppliers here in germany are selling it..
super8 negative is probably the only thing that is cheaper in london then in berlin ;)
++ c.
So regrettably it is still a waiting game here in the UK, but they have made their decision and it makes perfectly good business sense IMHO.

Super8France:
I don't know you, and I'm sure you're a nice guy, but that was, simply, a weird move.
You shouldn't use member-posted pictures for your website and post it claiming you have V3500T! I posted it to inform members that V3 was ready in the US and was kind enough to post a photo of my first shipment as proof.
I think everyone agrees that if you "borrow" a photo and post it as a product on your website you are exercising poor business etiquette, and that may very well bleed into other practices of your business.
Ultimately, it's great that we have V3 on the market, though, and I'm sure every one of us is excited about getting our paws on it.

It seems very strange that Kodak still can't update a Super 8mm page on their website...

Nah, it's not too strange. Have you ever had to deal with IT at a major corporatio ? It can be like watching paint dry. Maybe they should borrow my picture.

Can't wait to see what this stuff looks like ...
There can be no thought of finishing, for "aiming at the stars" both literally and figuratively is a problem to occupy generations, so that no matter how much progress one makes there is always the thrill of just beginning.

ive just received my 16mm results with the V3 500T and to my surprise it looks good. since the demise of EXR stocks ive been quite disappointed with kodak color negs vision material, but with the new stuff i was very please so yeah i went on line and ordered not just five of the 16mm, but five super V3. it should work beautifully in super8 format with the latitude, contrast, etc.

Do you think you will post it to Vimeo or something? I'd LOVE to see 16mm results. (What camera?)ive just received my 16mm results with the V3 500T and to my surprise it looks good
I will be receiving my HD scans of super 8 next week. I'll be sure to post the link here as soon as I get it.

Here is a quick sample of my first ever 16mm shots using V3 500T with a K-3.Do you think you will post it to Vimeo or something? I'd LOVE to see 16mm results. (What camera?)
The results were better than I expected for just random shooting.
Shot some super 8 with it also, should have it back early next week.

That was great! Amazing how that Bernard Hermann score brings simple street shots to life. Well done.lealar wrote:Here is a quick sample of my first ever 16mm shots using V3 500T with a K-3.

i will post results next week when i transfer the workprint to video.
happy and surprised to see with such latitude in exposure the film quality does not suffer. i photographed areas that i had no idea would work in extreme low light situations using a Bolex H-16 with 10mm F/1.4 Switar. results i consider perfect. also, Since i finish on film i want the blacks, contrast and saturation , which was provided in EXR stocks and not in Vision 2, but alas i dont have to search for outdated stocks to achieve these results now with Vision3. this reads like a commercial, but im excited with kodak films again.
