What medium format camera would you buy with $500?wado1942 wrote:If I'm going to spend over $500 on a camera, it'd be a medium format.

I bought two for $40 US...
- Yashica 12 (which was the direct precursor to the legendary 124)
- Yashica Mat LM
The 12 was perfect. The LM had sticky slow shutter speeds, and a dead meter. I sold the LM, and that paid for a clean, lube and adjust on the 12.
The biggest drawback is non-interchangeable lenses -- only 80mm. But it's a lovely four-element lens that delivers the best pictures I've ever taken.

I'm buying an Agfa Isolette 6x6 folding camera off eBay, paid about $50 for it. When closed it fits in you pocket. I Haven't seen it yet, but I've heard that model takes very nice photos on 120 film.
And this 4x5" Busch Pressman (like a Graflex press camera) makes amazing photos at a very small fraction of the cost of a Leica. Special bonus - it's hacker-friendly, you can experiment with alternative photo processes to your heart's content. Pinhole? Shoot on photo paper? Use your own homemade glass plates? No prob...

Are all the photos on that page yours?
I felt the colour photos were too contrasty for my liking, but they certainly grab attention.
My favourite is "side"...Lovely composition and intriguing, I want to investigate what's behind that door...

yes they are, most of them taken last summer.
wado1942: Too conrasty, are you refering to the black and white prints or colour? Because Ive gotten some criticizm on the b&w prints being too weak in contrast
Thanks for some feedback, I really apreciate it!
