The original MM started in 1963: 'Cock a Hoop' and in 1964: '5,4,3,2,1' and the hit record 'Do Wah Diddy' very well know on all these '60 collectors LP's and CD's.

I know, that's why I said I've been to their concerts at least three times, I wanted to every time, having been a fan myself since before the first concert. ;)

While I do know about the basic 60s Manfred Mann Band, I think their music to be somewhat shallow compared to what would follow, so it's not that quite 'high way up there' on my list. Still better than Abba though, of course, or the disco BeeGees (though I like the music they did before, or the non-disco songs Spicks and specks, IOIO, and New York mining desaster 1941). :P
