If Kodak does switch to the polyester base stock that may be a good thing because the base is thinner and the jitter problems have been very apparent in film stocks that have thicker base layers than Kodachrome.

Polyester stock. What a dreadful idea!

That would mean awful fat tape splices and scrapping my sound striping kit. It would also mean my giving up on film.

K40 Fresh stock CHEAPEST EVER!

Post by synthnut »

:D Hi there folks, my first post here! (so be gentle  )
Just to mention that the cheapest K40 stock I found was from wittner-kinotechnik.de. If you buy 20 rolls you get it for about £7.50 or so including taxes. There is a shipping fee and payment is a bit of a fiddle too as I don't think they take cards at the moment.
They also do sound striping supplies too!!!!

Long live Kodachrome! :D

For UK Kodachrome, you simply cannot beat photomart.co.uk :D they supply for £6 a roll and deliver free really fast. You have to register online with them. They're cheaper if you buy 24 at a time - not much if you think of the cost of a video camera! :D

K40 prices...

Post by synthnut »

8O WOW, I registered with them today, but it takes a while to activate your account so I hadn't seen the prices! Sounds good, think I order a pile. I always try and travel with a camera, even to and from work, so At that sort of price I can afford to be more experimental too :D
Cheers!
