You need to edit. If you have 200 feet of dolphin footage you should cut it down to one minute or less. If you transfer to video and edit on a computer, it's easy. If you are projecting there's no other option but to cut the camera original. Heart rending I know but it's the only way to hold your audience.mojohey wrote:WHAT 550 feet,.....Angus wrote: I have to admit to shooting video last weekend in Caerphilly...but I shot some 550 feet of K40 at the British Grand Prix two weeks ago. If i shoot more than 3 rolls on one subject or place.... i get bored looking at the same thing.... don't get me wrong if i went to the Grand Prix, i would take about 10 rolls, if i go anywhere i ussualy take about 4xK40... or on holiday for example i took 6 rolls..... but the biggest problem was shooting so much of the same thing... its great at the time... but when friends and family sit down to watch a screening..... even i feel its dull.
I must have had 4 rolls of Dolphins swimming and jumping about... looks great, but 4 rolls of it..... i could here the moans...
Ok i know you should please yourself and not your audience.maybe i need to plan my day of shooting more....
Anyway look forward to any posts of Grand Prix stuff.
I will shoot AT LEAST one feature-length movie in film (I don't give a damn WHAT kind of film it is, be it 8mm, 16mm or even 35mm!) before I lay a FINGER on an HDcam. It's a video camera, for crying out loud! I've used those all my life. (video cameras heavy (that big-as-hell VHS camera that I made movies with when I was 8) and small (the Digital-8 camcorder I stole- I mean BORROWED from my parents))Basstruc wrote:I am twelve years oldDude ! This may finish with a 35mm cine cam, or with HDcam :o (don't hit me !!...I'm probably also one of the youngest here. (I'm 15))
