timelapse exposure question

These are from the lost coast area near Cape Mendocino, the ~ westernmost point in the continental US. Unfortunately, they aren't great pictures.

I don't know if the sun is "in the shot." It's more like the shot is in the sun. ;)

Is that a sunrise over the ocean on the West Coast? Love to see how you pulled that off! ;)

Woy, just to cover yourself, you could consider having two super 8 cameras side by side both doing daylight time lapse of the same subject - one using manual exposure and the other using auto exposure. Then after processing, determine which camera gives the ideal footage.

When looking for a second camera, you don't have to scan ebay and fork out big $$ for a camera that may or may not be working, despite the seller's reasurances. As everyone knows, super 8 cameras can be had quite cheap (including top of the range ones) at markets if you hunt around...and you can inspect them on the spot with batteries too. Now, do you have two tripods that you can use?
