Okay, here's a JPG full frame of the city shot. As I say, the softness in the right side is built into the image. The Sniper uses a rectilinear lens that is hyper flat and does not lose focus nor distort at the edges. Also, I sort of guessed at the re-sizing. Not exactly 640-480 for video but close. :?

Thanks for the kind words. Roger and Annette did an excellent job of transferring the stuff, as usual.
I shot this in Paris and New York in August on a Sankyo ES-66XL. The Paris footage of the guy was shot with Plus-X, and I'm pretty sure that the New York footage was on Tri-X, both developed by PAC Lab in NYC.
I really don't know the root cause of the softness in the upper right corner. This was the second time I shot with the Sankyo, so I'm just happy that it behaved. I probably got a piece of Q-tip lint in the mechanism when I cleaned it.
Aside: I have 2 Canon 1014E's that both recently broke. They won't hold a manual aperture setting. If anyone can suggest someone who can fix them, I'd be very grateful. They probably just need new spring for the aperture control knob, but I really don't know, since I'm afraid to start taking them apart.
BTW, the "gun" was made out of black foil & black gaffers tape. All of my friends made me promise that I wouldn't take a toy gun, even a plastic one, on the plane even as checked luggage. My girlfriend just came to see me from Paris, and she said that the info she got from United Airlines explicitly states that it's OK to bring a toy gun, if it's in one's checked luggage. Good to know in the future. At least that's what I'll say if they ship me off to GITMO. 8--)
Peace,
---Jose
