Well, the nizo arrived and what a masterpiece of a camera it is...............It is virtually like brand new on the outside and everything seems to work. The added bonus was that there was a Kodak plus X film inside the camera with only about 10 foot of film shot, it will be interesting to see what was shot on it when I get it developed.

I also got three plusX films with the camera and im so looking forward to using them but I need to do some homework first regarding shooting with BnW......any tips guys?

There was also a star eight filter on the lens and in the bag a monovue filter which I believe you use to look at the scean as though its black and white.

I also have some 64T and a cart off 100D in the freezer and I hope to shoot these as well and im looking for advice shooting those stocks as well.

Study the operation of the camera beforehand and practice a bit without film.
Use a tripod as much as possible.

The Plus-X is really rare and is best kept for a project where you want the finest of BW imagery.
Best to test the camera with a Tri-X

The book you go with it is really nice and rare although very much pre-digital.
Many suppliers have ceased operations too.
Kind regards,

André

Yes it came with a user manual and I have read it cover to cover a few times now and it seems to explain things simply. But there are always as we know little things that can be done better or differently with the stocks that are available now and were not when the manual was written.

Cheers guys.

Best.

The range of "trick" facilities provided on this camera is impressive: I've tried them all and found them to do "what's on the tin" both effectively and reliably. The only one to be wary of is the "lap dissolve"..... usually very, very good results but because it involves an automatic rewind of a short length of film occasionally a "stiff" cartridge can cause a problem
As long as the stock you are using has a speed rating that the camera is designed for and the cartridge is correctly notched it will give excellent results on automatic,
but in case the exposure metering is inaccurate (age of camera) try test shots 2 & 1 stops above and 1 & 2 stops below the Auto setting. That will give you a guide for manual exposure correction.
The lens fitted to this camera is brilliant!
