Perhaps the Japanese site has been updated , but Internet Wayback shows that the English site looks exactly the same in 2009 as it does today in 2013:

The site owner may indeed be a very busy person , but it doesn't take more than a few minutes to update a webpage to reflect current offerings and prices.

In 2009 (as in 2013) he lists Cinevia T64 Pro ( Fujichrome T64 Professional) , Cinevia/Astia 100F ( Fujichrome Astia 100F) , and Cinevia/Provia 400X (Fujichrome Provia 400X) as "coming in Autumn" . The main English page for Retro-8 says this of Retro-X and Cinevia 50D Single-8 : "Our own B/W and colour Single-8 films will never be discontinued" , but no indication of how to order Retro-X B&W stock or what the price is .

Wittner is still listing Retro-X (Orwo UN 54) Single-8 for sale (but no Cinevia 50D Single-8) , but as far as I know this is also outdated information or at the very least it is old stock .

Hi,

Retro8 is currently closed for summer vacation. Tak is or was in Turkey the last days (according to facebook).

When you're in Europe, try http://www.super8.nl/ for buying single8-films. They've got 50D, 64T, 100F and Retro-X.

Thanks for link to http://www.super8.nl/ .

And I understand people taking a vacation (more of us should do that , more frequently ! And shoot lots of Super-8 or Single-8 on vacation . Still gotta love S-8 for 'home movie' vacation travelogues.)

As long as Retro8 is in business and still supplying and processing the stock I'd be happy to buy some Single-8. If he's in it for the long haul , continuing to supply reloaded film in the Single-8 cartridges then that's a good thing , because I still see Fujica Single-8 cameras show up on eBay frequently and if I understand the Japanese website correctly (from Google Translate) he also has a repair service for Single-8 cameras. As I'm sure many others do I dream of finding a good condition ZC 1000 .

Somewhere else on this forum or another Super 8 forum (?) I think I came across a post that indicated Martin Baumgarten is still processing and re-loading Single-8 cartridges . Does anyone know ? The old 8mm Metadirectory that was full of great information from Martin doesn't seem to be available online anymore . (yes, I've been away from the Super-8 scene for a while and am just now getting back into it) I think I have an email address for him written down so I guess I need to find his email and ask him. I only ever got to try using Single-8 back in the late 70's from checking out a Single-8 Z-800 from my school's film dept. I'd like to try it again if I can get a camera and as long as I know there are still sources for the film stock. It seems like as long as there is a supply of Single-8 cartridges and Super-8 film to load them with that the Single-8 cart design makes it possible to keep using and re-using these cartridges for the foreseeable future. (unfortunately only with 40' ft. of Super-8 , since it's thicker than Fuji's now discontinued Single-8 stock, but I can live with that ) .

Martin was "too lazy" to create a new webpage once AOL has deleted his old one (along with all other AOL-members' webpages). However AFAIK he's still in business (only "part-time" - more as a hobby than as a job) and the eMail-addresses and telephone-numbers should still be the ones listed on his old webpage (now stored in archive.org): http://web.archive.org/web/200711050811 ... er8mm.html

Unfortunately there's no "Single8" on John's price list - btw: what happened to John's official webpage on zerelda.com?

Unfortunately I don't think John has very little if none at all 8mm film stock. Hopefully he will chime in and correct me if I'm wrong.
