Sure you have your words in behold but since the Fuji S8 Stock is now - possibly perfed/split by Kahl - also offered through Wittner and Andec no one needs to use Kahl services if they do not want so.

One god option with kahl though: Usually it is possible to buy the 60m spools and rent reloadable 15m carts which makes it possible to reload the 15 carts your self in a bag also avail from kahl.

Well I guess they've got to recoup their r&d for what is essentially a complete conversion of the Beaulieu to an integral pressure plate drive system. This would put it on par with DS8 cameras such as Canon and Bolex.
Perhaps if it was priced around $1k . . . :?

Hello.
This material has nothing to do with Kahl Media . In case of not getting
quantities of reloadable cartridges or any other possibility here in Europe
to load material in 15 Meter cartridges, it is offered in 60 Meter lenght.
For production it has some advantages . Ten minutes of film without
loading cartridges. Stable picture and sharpness, because it is the same
construction like 16 mm cameras.
It is also planed , to sell the rawstock single, possible in 60 or 120 Meter lenght.

fujiRt200N, k40, and sound striped film

Post by dave »

Remember the following:
To date kodak refuses to sell k40 in bulk to wittner
Fuji refuses to sell Rt200n in bulk to wittner
Therefore wittner cant stripe the reversal film for placement on the 200 ft spools ,hence no reversal sound or silent film is available
AMAZING ISN'T IT!
THE JAPANESE MAG ALLOWS THE FUGI 50FT SINGLE CART TO BE USED IN A SUPER 8 CAMERA THATS IT! NOTHING MORE .THE FILM IS THEN SENT TO FUJI FOR PROCESSING

The exact formula for the super-8 sound stripe is in the Kodak pattent. If you hire a chemist to make some I am sure a device cold be made to apply it ( I have several ideas).Who is interested?

Re: striping

My idea is simple. Drive the film slowly using sprockets. Use SEMCO plastic cartridges and a SEMCO gun to deliver a stream of sound stripe through a blunt hypodermic needle onto the surface of the film as it travels past the needle. Semco cartridges are used in the aircraft industry to inject sealant into aircraft structures under air pressure. Use a micrometer stage to adjust the position of the needle over the film. Deliver the paste exactly in the amount needed exactly where it is needed. It's not rocket science, it's an engineering problem, and not a terribly difficult one. No I am not an engineer.

Yeah,
Very,very, very precise!

Well, If Ludwig from Andec says that their S8 Fuji stock is not from Kahl,
this means that exists a great interest to maintain the Super 8 format. In fact, we will have 8 Super for many years...

And... something really cool... Super 8 negative stocks in 60 / 120 m spools. 8)

gee, it seems a dream... \:D/

Carlos.
